Ball State University Professional Development

The Teachers College at Ball State University has invited Huffer Memorial Children's Center to serve as a Professional Development School (PDS). Professional Development Schools are collaborative planning partnerships between professional education programs and P-12 schools for the professional development of teachers and the training of future educators.

Being a PDS means that Huffer Memorial Children's Center has lower staff-child ratios due to the presence of practicum students and student teachers, giving each child more individual attention. Professional early childhood faculty from BSU will meet with our staff on a regular basis to continuously improve the quality of the Educare  program and the functioning of the Huffer Memorial Children's Center. Continuous teacher improvement is a primary goal of BSU-PDS Schools.
